Washy washy is an unofficial, community-run passion project. Not affiliated with, sponsored by, or built in partnership with any washing machine or appliance manufacturer — this isn't a paid partnership, just organic hustle.

The bundled chart reflects one household's own washing and ironing settings — a set of decisions that moved the needle for one washer, one iron and one person's wardrobe. It is not a manufacturer's guarantee, not a care-labelling standard, and not professional advice. Loads, fabrics and machines vary by org, and a setting that's a culture add on one machine can be a culture kill on another.

A garment's own care label always outranks anything shown here in the org chart. When the two disagree, the label is the C-suite — defer to it.

As stated in the project's licence (GPL-3.0-or-later, sections 15–16): the software ships "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied — no SLA, no roadmap commitment. Washy washy's maintainers are not liable for any damage — to clothes, machines, or your personal brand — arising from its use.
